As the Islamic State ramps up its threats against the U.S., Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) said, he plans to bring legislation to Congress aimed at giving President Barack Obama clear authority to issue air strikes in Syria against the terrorist group.
Nelson said on CNN, while Obama has the authority from a previous law to bomb the Islamic State in Iraq, airstrikes in Syria won’t be for one or two days, but long term and “may as well have the constitution followed.”
