A 37-year-old woman stabbed another woman to death after a fight this afternoon in West Orlando and Orange County Sheriff’s deputies say that it appears both women were known to each other.
According to OCSO:
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 12:11 PM today, April 21, 2010, in reference to a stabbing at 7024 Blue Earth Court near Hiawassee on Orlando’s Westside. The victim is reported to be a 21 year old female who was stabbed by a known person.
After arriving on scene, deputies entered and secured the residence and located the suspect standing outside the residence and the victim inside. Kesha Collins, 37 years, the suspect, was in custody at the scene. The Orange County Fire Rescue Unit transported the victim, Debbie Maxwell, 21 years, to Orlando Regional Medical Center, who did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Homicide investigators are on scene and have conducted preliminary interviews of what led up to this afternoon’s violence. It appears that the suspect and victim knew each other and were engaged in verbal and physical altercations that included weapons. Witnesses say that at some point the suspect was locked out of the house, then entered through a window and re-engaged the victim.
Investigators are in the process of executing a search warrant for evidentiary follow-up. Forensics and crime scene investigators are on scene.
Collins has been charged with first degree murder. She remains in custody and will be booked at the Orange County Jail later today.
RIP Debbie…. youll never be forgotten girl….
RIP DEBBIE MISS YU ALREADY
Debbie, you will be sorely missed! I remember what a wonderful and kind student that you were. If I had known that your time on earth would have ended so soon, I would have spend more time talking to you, after you graduated. I am so very sorry that a kind and gentle spirit was snatched from life so violently. But there is comfort in the scriptures. The WORD of the Lord says,;”To be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord.” May your soul rest in the bossom of Abraham and may you find peace in the arms of the “Prince of Peace” -Jesus, who is the Christ. My condolences and sympathy to your family and loved ones.
