Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge Reopens in Orange County

Orange County recently celebrated the grand reopening of Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge at Eagles Roost Green PLACE.

The updated facility includes a new visitor center, animal care building, community center, food prep building and administrative offices—all designed to support the rehabilitation and release of Florida native wildlife and expand nature-based education and recreation.

Visit BTN’s resident animals Tuesday – Sunday from 9am-4pm for a $5 suggested donation per person. Injured and orphaned native wild animal intakes are also accepted during open hours. Specialized visits, like private or group tours, are also available.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, District 4 Commissioner Maribel Gomez Cordero, and the Environmental Protection Division joined staff and volunteers from the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge to celebrate its grand reopening.

Back To Nature moved the wildlife rehabilitation and education center from east Orlando to Lake Nona after 25 years of operation. The new site is located off of Narcoossee Rd and Clapp Simms Duda Rd. (adjacent to Split Oak Preserve, at the end of Clapp Simms Duda Rd.), known as “Eagles Roost.”

Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge at Eagles Roost is located at 10525 Clapp Simms Duda Rd, Orlando, Florida 32832.
