B-CU Kicks Off 120th Anniversary Celebrations with $1 Million Giving Campaign

Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) is doubling down on its vision to define new standards for academic excellence and student success. In commemoration of the university’s 120-year anniversary this year, the institution launched a $1 million giving campaign to position the institution for success well into the future.

“This celebration is not merely about the passage of time,” said Acting President and Provost William Berry, Ph.D. “It is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the profound impact Bethune-Cookman University has had on countless lives, guided by the enduring principles of our beloved Founder.”

The $1 million giving campaign officially kicked off March 21st on the university’s annual day of giving and will run through Founder’s Day on October 3rd.

“Now, more than ever, is a critical time to give back to Bethune-Cookman as we celebrate 120 years,” said Vice President of Institutional Advancement Sherry Paramore. “Each and every donation helps us transform the lives of students on their educational journey, exposing them to the best programs and opportunities to ‘Enter to learn. Depart to serve.’”

In addition to the giving campaign, the university has announced the reveal of a new commemorative mark and a companion marketing campaign intended to symbolize the rich heritage and enduring spirit of the university. The campaign slogan, “Where Nothing is Impossible,” was inspired by one of Dr. Mary Mcleod Bethune’s most famous quotes: “Without faith, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible.”

B-CU was founded by civil and human rights activist Dr. Bethune in 1904 as the Daytona Educational and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls. Bethune-Cookman University is a historically-Black university in Daytona Beach, Florida.
