Florida Governor Rick Scott says he would like to cut the state budget by $100 million next year, the AP reported.
Scott had indicated earlier that we wished to use an unexpected surplus to cut taxes and fees by $500 million.
But Scott also wants to “cut government waste” by $100 million as he put it, and to block money for new roads and schools buildings unless there are “specific” reasons why the state should go ahead with the project, the news service also reported.
Florida’s total budget is about $74 billion.
