Awake the State Shows Solidarity with Occupy Orlando

More than 15,000 persons have participated in Awake the State rallies in over 30 cities across Florida in the last several months, sending a clear message to Tallahassee that Floridians are awake and mobilizing that that they will no longer sit back and silently witness the injustices in the political and economic systems.

On Tuesday, November 1, Awake the State will join in solidarity with Occupy Orlando and all the other Occupy movements across the country, speaking out against corporate greed and corruption.

The rally will be held at the Senator Beth Johnson Park beginning at 5:30 p.m.

5:30pm Open Forum: Speak out for justice

6:30pm Teach-In’s : Voter rights, voter participation, voter suppression, and what we can do to protect the vote

8:00pm General Assembly

We will also invite out the Orange County supervisor of elections to have them register voters on site.
