The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority will continue its tradition of celebrating America’s birthday with a festive patriotic event on Saturday, June 28, beginning at 7:45 p.m., at Orlando International Airport.
The event will feature the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and also acknowledge the contributions of Central Florida’s veterans. In this connection, the second annual Colonel Joe Kittinger Award will be presented to a local veteran with a distinguished history of aviation achievement.
In addition, the Authority will pay tribute to Central Florida’s Medal of Honor recipients with the unveiling of a special plaque. One Medal of Honor recipient and family members of two others will be present for the ceremony.
