Auditions for Suddenly Seniors the Musical©

Suddenly Seniors The Musical, LLC is holding auditions November 30th and December 1st for 7 primary roles and 2 understudy positions. Casting requirements include acting, singing, and dancing along with a minimum age requirement of at least 50 years. Interested actors may submit a head shot and bio for consideration via e-mail to [email protected]. These closed auditions are by invitation only. Location will be provided when an audition appointment is confirmed.

The concept for the original, musical comedy was conceived by Alexander Caputo, a Windermere resident and business owner with a 40-year track record in Central Florida with strong ties to the entertainment and special event industry. Caputo’s vision for the production has been formulating conceptually for more than 20 years. Bringing his idea to the stage commenced with an assemblage of creative colleagues who share more than 30 years of professional history.

In advancing from concept to theatrical, musical production, it was important to Mr. Caputo that the story is presented authentically. This story of senior realization has been conceived, written, and, ultimately, produced and performed by experienced individuals whose fingers are on the pulse on their own suddenly senior experiences. Every member of the creative team is over 50 and the production will maintain its authenticity as it moves to the stage with a “We’re Not Done Yet” mantra that defies the stereotypical moans, groans, and general negativity associated with advancing years.

The jubilant, coming-of-aged story has been written by Karen Helenthal of Winter Springs and is the culmination of a collaborative effort comprised of an impressive, multi-faceted, team of creative spirits. The storyline, with its humorous and celebratory overtones, is punctuated with Baby Boom era musical favorites along with the unexpected and impressive addition of original music, written by Glen Gettings, a local songwriter whose talent has interpreted Caputo’s positive view with a level of melodic emotion and lyrics so memorable that it is destined to leave audiences with both smiles and sing-along songs that will transcend the 90 minute experience.

Additional information, press kits, and interviews are available upon request. Please contact Karen Helenthal via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone as detailed above.
