A 3-year-old boy was the subject of an attempted kidnapping in Taft and Orange County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for the suspect.
Investigators learned, the boy was playing outside his home in the 9800 block of 5th avenue outside his residence just before 7:00 p.m. on Friday, when he was approached by an unknown male. The mother of the child told investigators it appeared as if the suspect was luring the child to follow him and she yelled at the man. The suspect then fled on foot.
Deputies have described the suspect as a white male, about 5’10” tall, approximately 150 pounds with short brown slightly curly hair. The suspect was wearing a NASCAR style blue jacket and blue jeans.
The investigation is ongoing.
