Crime is down slightly in Orlando, if you don’t consider property crime, according to new statistics released by the Orlando Police Department Wednesday.
In 2013, overall crime dropped by a mere 0.5% compared with 2012. And property crimes, which include burglary, larceny, theft, motor vehicle theft, shopping lifting and vandalism, have risen.
OPD Chief Paul Rooney said, a number of initiatives would be launched in 2014, including the testing of body cameras on officers, to help reduce crime further.
