Ask the Dating Queen: I’m Pregnant by my Married Ex-Boyfriend

Diomi Miller - The Dating Queen

DEAR DATING QUEEN,

I went to the doctor today and found out I am 2 months pregnant. I can’t believe this is happening to me! This is such a bad time to have a kid. I’m barely making ends meet. The baby’s father and I don’t date anymore…he’s married and I’m seeing someone new. I can’t have this baby but, I don’t want to have an abortion. This would be my 3rd abortion this year.

Please help me.

Pregnant & Don’t Know What To Do

DEAR PREGNANT & DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO,

Congratulations on your pregnancy. This is good news. A baby is a gift from God. Eleven million American couples are unable to conceive a child. It sounds like you are tired of having abortions and want to keep this child. Don’t let finances, fear, or anyone else’s opinion get in the way of your decision.

Discuss baby shower ideas with family and friends. Do inform your new love interest and ex-boyfriend you are pregnant now and don’t surprise them months later. The sooner your ex- boyfriend knows about the news, the sooner he can be prepared to support your child as well as, make his wife aware of your pregnancy.

After your baby is born, a paternity test will be needed to determine if the father of your child is your ex-boyfriend’s or your new love interest.

Mother Teresa once said, “It is a poverty to decide that child must die so that you may live as you wish.”

DEAR DATING QUEEN,

My girlfriend wants me to shave off my hair but, I don’t want to. I like my hair long.  It took me awhile to grow it. We argue about my hair all the time.

-Tired of arguing.

DEAR TIRED OF ARGUING,

It is your hair and you can do whatever you want with it.  However, your hair is interfering with the relationship with your girlfriend.

You said you argue all the time about your hair.  Maybe there’s an underlying issue you are unaware of.  How much do you value your relationship?  Is your hair worth holding on to?

Relationships are all about compromise. You don’t have to shave your head bald.  You could cut your hair short or sport a fade. Embrace change, for it will transform and elevate you in a new direction.
