Known for its one-of-a-kind, locally made art, jewelry, and gifts, Artistree Co-op is supporting Faith Project International with a benefit called “Sew Many Blessings”. They are inviting the community to join the Artistree designers for an evening of sewing, knitting, or crocheting items for the Stove Program in Guatemala.
“Sew Many Blessings” will be held on Thursday, June 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the ever popular Artistree Co-op, a space shared with Infusion Tea, at 1600 Edgewater Drive in the College Park neighborhood of Orlando. “We at Artistree want to show our love and support to Brad and Christina Cowherd, owners of Infusion Tea, for their tireless efforts in founding Faith Project International by participating in their worthy project here at home”, said event coordinator Lynne Martin.
This summer, the Cowherds will lead several teams back to Guatemala to build efficient wood stoves for some of the poorest families who are experiencing respiratory illness and shortened lifespans due to cooking over open fires. “Our mission is to send back handmade items such as pot holders, towels, oven mitts, and dish towels to support the Stove Program” added Martin.
Participants in the “Sew Many Blessings” event can bring materials and create these types of items during the event, or sew them ahead of time and donate their items at the event. They could even drop off the items at Artistree Co-op anytime before June 30th.
Artistree Co-op will also be donating 10% of their sales during the “Sew Many Blessings” event and will be accepting monetary donations as well for Faith Project International. “We believe artists and crafters are the most caring, socially conscious people on the planet, so we so we know they will want to help support this worthy cause,“ said Martin.
Artistree Co-op is a gift boutique and art gallery that carries a unique assortment of handcrafted items solely made by local artists that include jewelry, pottery, glassware, baby gear, purses, home accessories, candles, greeting cards, and more. Infusion Tea has developed a following for its creative vegetarian food and extensive array of teas from around the world.
