Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans has arthritis?  The good new is that there is a lot you can do to manage this condition.

Here are some ideas to consider:

  • Develop an exercise program.  First, check with your healthcare provider to find out what types of exercises are both sage and effective for your type of arthritis.  Also, see if there is a physical therapist or trainer in your community with experience in working with people with arthritis.  Exercises might include stretching and bending using yoga and water aerobics.  Muscle strengthening exercise may help in developing strong and lean muscles.
  • Taking prescription or over the counter medications for your arthritis?  Check with your doctor or other healthcare professional to discuss how these medications are working for you.
