Three suspects were recently arrested following a successful covert operation targeting drug activity in Central Florida.
This month, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Street Crimes Unit conducted an undercover investigation in Gibsonton near Tampa where they located 34-year-old Roy Sprouse selling methamphetamine and fentanyl to 29-year-old Adolfo Regino.
Deputies were able to take Sprouse into custody without incident. However, Regino fled from the scene.
The HCSO Aviation Section was called in to assist and were able to track the suspect to a residence off Corwin Street. Once deputies arrived, they located and arrested 40-year-old Anthony Greco, another known offender with active warrants.
The HCSO Aviation Section continued to search for Regino and, a short time later, located the suspect hiding under a trailer near the residence. Deputies quickly made contact with Regino and took him into custody without incident.
“This operation is a testament to the exceptional coordination and expertise of our deputies and Aviation Section,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “By removing these individuals and these harmful substances from our streets, we are making all of Hillsborough County safer for our residents.”
