The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a recent non-fatal shooting in the Town ‘n’ Country area, near Tampa, led to an arrest of a 28-year-old Central Florida suspect on charges including attempted murder.
At the beginning of the month, deputies responded to the report of a shooting at the Ginger Cove Apartments.
When deputies arrived, they located an adult male with upper body trauma. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Simultaneously, deputies within the newly created Auto Theft Task Force conducted a stop on a black Dodge Charger Hellcat for speeding and reckless driving. This vehicle was suspected of being at the shooting scene, and the driver was found to be in possession of a handgun and a large amount of marijuana packaged for sale.
The suspect, 28-year-old Jonathan Archangel, was interviewed and admitted to shooting the victim in the Tampa Bay area.
“Through our deputies’ diligent efforts and simultaneous operations, we not only secured the suspect but also prevented further potential harm,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We are laser-focused on upholding safety within our community, and this type of violence will not be tolerated.”
Archangel faces charges including 2nd Degree Attempted Murder and Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm.
