HDs 68, 65: STPETEPOLLS: DUDLEY, NEHR AHEAD IN ROBOPOLLS: Democrat Dwight Dudley leads Republican Frank Farkas 47 percent to 43 percent in a StPetePolls.org survey of likely voters in House District 68 taken this week, with No Party candidate Matthew Weidner getting 4.8 percent. The same polling firm also polled in House District 65 and found incumbent Republican Peter Nehr leading Democrat Carl “Z” Zimmermann 45.6 percent to 41 percent. That race, however, has 13.4 percent of voters still undecided, according to the poll, which had a margin of error of 3.6 percent. Both districts are in Pinellas County: 68 is along the bay including parts of the city of St. Petersburg, and Pinellas Park. District 65 is in the northern part of the county, including Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs. The polls, taken Monday, were automated phone call polls, or robopolls.

CD 2: CLYBURN TO RAISE CASH FOR LAWSON: Congressman Jim Clyburn, the assistant Democratic leader in the House, will be in Tallahassee Thursday to help raise money for CD Democratic aspirant Al Lawson, who is trying to unseat Republican Rep. Steve Southerland. The fundraiser is at the home of Tallahassee super lawyer Barry Richard.
CD 3: CANTOR TO RAISE CASH FOR YOHO: House Majority Leader Eric Cantor will be in Gainesville Wednesday evening to help raise money for Republican congressional candidate Ted Yoho. The event is at the Mustang Air Hangar at University Air Center.
WEST SLAMMED ON STEM CELL RESEARCH: The House Majority PAC has a new ad showing people discussing possible diseases they could get. “Embryonic stem cell research could save lives, maybe yours or your families or someone you love, only Congressman West says no,” one says. “How come he gets to decide who lives and who dies? Who’s he?” a young girl says. Politico reported on the ad Tuesday morning.

COMING UP
Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan campaigns Thursday in Ocala and Fort Myers and will attend a fundraiser in Boca Raton on Friday. Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to campaign Friday in Sun City Center near Tampa and in Fort Pierce, with events planned Saturday as well, though details haven’t been released.
CD 6 candidates Ron DeSantis, the Republican, and Democrat Heather Beaven will debate tonight. The debate sponsored is by Stetson University’s Center for Community Engagement and the Daytona Beach News-Journal, and will be moderated by News-Journal Editor Pat Rice.
