Armed Robbers Viciously Attack H & S Mart Store Owner

The owner of the H & S Mart, a convenience store on Hiawassee Road, was attacked early on Sunday morning by a group of white men armed with handguns and forced to drive the robbers to a second location to obtain money, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies said.

According to OCSO:

In the early morning hours of July 11, 2010 Orange County Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to a call of false imprisonment and attempted armed robbery.  The incident reportedly began at the H & S Mart located in the 2900 block of Hiawassee Road.  So far the investigation reveals that as the store owner was closing the business he was attacked by four white male suspects armed with handguns.  The victim was forced to drive the suspects to an unknown location to obtain money from a 2nd location.  The victim was dropped off at the corner of Corona and N Orange Blossom Trail where he was aided by a passerby.

The Fire Department was called to the scene and transported the victim, who was disoriented to an area hospital.  He and has severe injuries.

Investigators have not disclosed the name of the victim or the name of the Good Samaritan.
