Armed Robber Wearing Ski Mask Arrested

An armed robbery to a Hess convenience store/gas station at 12253 South Orange Blossom Trail took place early this morning.   The robbery was reported at 4:41 a.m.  An employee reported that a white male wearing a ski mask, a tan jump suit, and armed with a knife entered the store and robbed the clerk.

At approximately 4:53 AM deputies responding to the scene located the suspect running eastbound on Weathersby and at 4:54 a.m. deputies secured the suspect secured without incident.

During the course of their investigation deputies located articles of clothing believed to be associated with the suspect floating in a small retention pond or ditch behind a Blockbuster Video Store near the robbery scene.  Detectives requested the assistance of the agency’s Dive Team to search for additional submerged evidence and the weapon, reported to be a long kitchen knife.  The weapon was not located during the dive team’s search of the small pond/ditch which was reported to be pure muck.

Robbery detectives have identified the suspect in this case as Justin D. Hogan 20 years old.

Hogan has been charged with armed robbery with a mask.
