Apopka Memorial Middle School will hold a dedication ceremony of its newly renovated school buildings on Friday.
The $30 million renovation project has given the community what is practically a new school. Those buildings that could be salvaged were completely overhauled and given a facelift. New construction included a two-story administration/classroom building. The project also included new covered walks, landscaping, irrigation, and state-of-the-art technology in classrooms.
Prior to the renovation, Apopka Memorial Middle School had 32 portable classrooms. The 60-year-old buildings were falling into disrepair and the grounds surrounding them were in need of new landscaping.
School Board Member Christine Moore and Superintendent Ronald Blocker are expected to attend the School’s dedication.
