Anthony Defense Team’s Smoke and Mirrors

The Casey Anthony defense team was given until February 1st 2010 to provide their witness list to the prosecution.  But, February 1st came and went and there is no indication that this was done.

Presentation of a witness list is just a part of the pre-trial litigation process during which each party–prosecution and defense–requests information and documents from the other side in an attempt to “discover” pertinent facts.

Prosecutors have already submitted the names of witnesses whom they intend to call to testify at trial.

Anthony’s defense attorneys have maintained that someone else is responsible for the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, not their client.  Then, why not submit their witness list?

The defense has said that the prosecution is at fault, as they are awaiting more information, hence their delay.

Shall we call it, more smoke and mirrors?

Anthony, 23, is charged with first degree murder in the death of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee.  If convicted she could face the death penalty.   She is awaiting trial in the Orange County Jail.
