Another Killin’ in the Hood: Edwards Haynes Arrested for the Murder of Shane Thompson

A 32-year-old man was shot dead in Orlando on Sunday afternoon, Orange County deputies said.

The shooting happened at 35th and Nashville Streets, a known haven for drugs, prostitution and a variety of other crimes.

Investigators say, 37-year-old Edward Hayes has been arrested for the shooting death of Shane Thompson, 32.

According to witnesses, Thompson was standing “in the cut” with his bike when suddenly there were two blasts.  Thompson was seen on the ground with blood pouring out of his upper body, where he was shot.

Witnesses also say, a person was spotted fleeing the scene following the shooting.

Haynes was arrested shortly after.
