Orange County Public Schools conducted a second round of COVID-19 vaccination clinics last week at each of its 22 high schools and each day’s turnout exceeded the first round.
OCPS, with a third party healthcare partner, is hosting events to offer the COVID-19 vaccine to families with children ages 5 and older, as well as any others who needed their vaccine or booster shot. The second round saw another 4,308 doses of the vaccine given, and the district hosted an additional six school locations for vaccinations on Saturday, December 4th, but those numbers are not currently included in the count.
Here is the total breakdown, by date and age grouping:
2nd Round Date | Pediatric Dose Total | 12+ Dose Total | 2nd Round Total |

“An increase in participation by Central Florida families is welcome news as we all work to guard our community against COVID-19 infection and spread,” states Chief Communications Officer Scott Howat. “Again this week, we are seeing parents and adult family members getting their vaccines or boosters alongside their children and, in fact, our healthcare partner tells us that the boosters are a large part of the increase in turnout. OCPS is committed to continuing to provide our school buildings as convenient and trusted locations for vaccine distribution.”
OCPS previously reported 5,635 doses of COVID-19 vaccine given at prior high school events.
