Orange County Animal Services is offering the “Man’s Best Friend” dog adoption promotion on Saturday, June 15 in celebration of Father’s Day. For this one day, dog adopters will be able to spin the “Waggin’ Wheel” to receive a reduced adoption fee – FREE, $5, $10 or $15. The promotion aims to unite the shelter’s homeless dogs with loving, forever homes.
“Dogs are often thought of as ‘man’s best friend’ and that’s definitely a sentiment that we agree with,” said Dil Luther, Division Manager of Orange County Animal Services. “There is a great bond between a family and their dog and we’re hoping that this promotion helps many of our dogs find the wonderful homes they deserve.”
The promotion reduces dog adoption fees from the usual rate of $55. There is a limit of one offer per household.
“In the past, our one day adoption promotions have proven to be very successful in finding homes for our shelter pets,” said Luther. “We currently have more than 100 adoptable dogs who are waiting to meet their best friend. If adopting is right for you, please consider adopting a family member from our shelter this Saturday.”
Each adoption includes spay/neuter, initial vaccinations, microchip identification, deworming, heartworm test (dogs) or FLV/FIV test (cats), rabies vaccination, 5-lb. bag of Science Diet food and Adoption Welcome Kit.
The shelter is also waiving the adoption fees for cats six months and older all month long as part of the “Certified Pre-Owned Cats” promotion.
