Amway Center Draws 45,000 to Open House

The new Amway Center which opened on Friday, drew an estimated 45,000 Central Floridians to the Community Open House on Saturday, October 2, 2010.  The event was free and open to the public and gave Orlando residents a first-hand look at the multiple fan amenities and state-of-the-art technology at the new Amway Center.

Disney Atrium-a voluminous, 80-foot tall main lobby which will serve as the entry point for approximately 80% of the arena's patrons

The premium amenities accessible to every level of ticket buyer, include:

* The Budweiser Baseline Bar

* Club Restaurant

* Nutrilite Magic Fan Experience

* Orlando on Demand Info. Garden

* STUFF’s Magic Castle presented by Club Wyndham

* Gentlemen Jack Terrace

* Sky Bar

* Multiple indoor-outdoor spaces which celebrate Florida’s climate.

The  875,000 square foot facility is designed to reflect the character of the community, meet the goals of the users and build on the legacy of sports and entertainment in Orlando and is almost triple the size of the old Amway Arena.

The building’s exterior features a modern blend of glass and metal materials, along with ever-changing graphics via a monumental wall along one façade. A 180-foot tall tower and spire serves as a beacon amid the downtown skyline.
