Amtrak Auto Train Summer Sale Offers Fares as Low as $75, Kids Ride Free

Amtrak is offering an Auto Train summer sale for travelers ready to skip the stress of I-95 in favor of a convenient and relaxing trip by saying “all aboard!”




Through July 31st, customers can book Coach Class for as low as $75, plus the cost of a vehicle. For those wanting to make the trip a family vacation, kids ages two through 12 ride free in Coach Class or First Class private rooms.

Amtrak Auto TrainGuests traveling in Coach Class enjoy wide, reclining seats with plenty of legroom, no middle seat and a large window to enjoy the view. Prior to arrival, a complimentary continental breakfast is served.

For extra comfort and additional privacy, travelers can upgrade to a First Class room. Accommodation options include a Roomette – featuring two comfortable seats that transform into upper and lower beds by night – or a Bedroom offering twice the space of a Roomette as well as an in-room sink, restroom and shower. All First Class customers receive priority boarding, a dedicated attendant and complimentary meals onboard.

This Amtrak Auto Train summer sale offer is valid for sale from May 21, 2024, through July 31, 2024 and for travel May 24 – Sept. 2, 2024. The discount is available for travel from Lorton, Virginia, to Sanford, Florida and Sanford, FL, to Lorton, VA. Three-day advance purchase required. Other restrictions apply. The Amtrak Auto Train offers daily, non-stop service between Lorton, VA (near Washington, D.C.), and Sanford, FL (near Orlando in Central Florida). Customers can travel with several types of vehicles—including cars, vans, SUVs and motorcycles. This train is the only such service in the U.S. and eliminates nearly 900 miles of driving between the Northeast and Florida.
