America’s Most Instagrammable Beach Neighborhoods Revealed

New research reveals the most Instagrammable beach neighborhoods in America, and Florida has two spots in the top ten, including the big winner. The research also revealed the most Instagrammable beach cities and beach towns in America, with many Florida locations ranking in the top ten.




The study by U.S. swim retailer SwimOutlet recently analyzed the number of Instagram hashtags for 246 beaches across America. A total of 250 beaches were gathered using TripAdvisor and OpenAI, and 246 of these have been posted and hashtagged on Instagram.

The top 10 rankings are as follows:

South Beach, in Florida, is the most Instagrammable beach neighborhood, with 8.1 million hashtags. The Atlantic Ocean waters at South Beach are extremely clear, and ideal for swimming, and its wide stretches of soft, white sand make for beautiful photos.

Venice, in California, is the second most Instagrammable beach neighborhood, with 3.6 million hashtags. The beach itself is stunning, with its golden sands, vibrant blue waters, and picturesque sunsets, providing a perfect backdrop for photos.

Ocean Beach, in California, is the third most Instagrammable neighborhood, with 1.7 million hashtags. This neighborhood is particularly Instagrammable due to its unique combination of natural beauty, vibrant culture, and distinctive attractions.

Pacific Beach is the fourth most Instagrammable, The neighborhood is renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, offering vibrant and colorful skies that create perfect photo opportunities every evening.

Ranking fifth is Waikiki, with 998,286 hashtags. The consistently beautiful weather, with clear skies and sunny days, ensures that almost every photo taken in Waikiki looks bright and inviting.

Rounding out the top ten is Mission Beach, Greater Fort Lauderdale, Queens, San Diego Country and West Seattle.

“Beaches across the US are highly Instagrammable and attract many photographers, travelers and influencers who share their experiences in these stunning coastal environments on social media,” Alexander Sienkiewicz, CMO of SwimOutlet commented on the findings. “The weather, particularly in states like California, Florida, and Hawaii, enjoy favorable weather year-round. Therefore sunrises and sunsets can always be captured and shared. Beaches attract millions of tourists annually, generating a substantial amount of revenue through spending on accommodation, dining, shopping, and local attractions.”

Five beach names, including “Ocean City Beach,” “East Beach,” ”Ocean Beach,” “Venice Beach,” and “Long Beach,” are located in more than one place. Therefore, each of these five beaches was combined with location hashtags, such as “Ocean City Beach Maryland” and “Ocean City Beach New Jersey.”




The research also analyzed the most Instagrammable beach cities and beach towns.
