Altercation Leads to Shooting in Parking Lot of West Side Convenience Store

A man is in critical condition after shots were fired into a car in the parking lot of a convenience store at North Hiawassee Road, Sunday night.

Orange County deputies say, passengers from two vehicles parked at Quick Stop located at 2507 North Hiawassee Road became involved in a verbal altercation. Suddenly, that’s when a passenger in one of the vehicles, opened fire and shot an occupant in the other vehicle.

Investigators say, both vehicle then fled the scene, but one of the victim’s friends called 911 from a separate location advising on the shooting.

The victim, a black male in his early 20s, was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. Investigators say, he is listed in critical condition.

The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m., Sunday.

Investigators have not released the name of the victim or identified any of the people involved.
