Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Central Florida is making sure youth in foster care have what they need to thrive.
Members of the sorority recently hosted a variety of events – such as Pie-A-Xi and Xiti Night with the Xis – in support of Embrace Families, the lead nonprofit agency overseeing foster care and child welfare services in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
In addition to raising $14,500 in October for Embrace Families, Alpha Xi Delta collected food items to support the organization’s Stock the Pantry drive. As a result, thousands of dollars’ worth of shelf-stable items will be available for families who are working with Embrace Families and in need of assistance to put enough food on the table each night.
