Four high school football state championships are on the line this weekend as Orlando welcomes the FHSAA Football Finals for the 3rd year in row. The state’s smaller classifications (1A, 1B, 2A and 2B) will play at the Florida Citrus Bowl this Friday and Saturday. The larger classifications (3A-6A) are scheduled for next weekend (December 18-19).
The Central Florida Sports Commission, the City of Orlando, Edgewater High School and Orange County Public Schools are the
co-hosts for the state finals.
“The FHSAA Football Finals have become one of our community’s great annual sports traditions,” said Sam Stark, president/CEO of the Central Florida Sports Commission. “Florida is the home of the nation’s best high school players and teams. This is Central Florida’s chance to see them in our own backyard.”
Daytona Beach’s Warner Christian School will play in Friday’s 1B Final for the 2nd straight year. The Eagles face Glades Day (Belle Glade) and freshman running back Kelvin Taylor, the son of New England Patriots running back Fred Taylor. In Saturday’s 2B Final, Bolles High School (Jacksonville) looks for an unprecedented 10th state championship against Tampa Catholic.

Tickets for each game are $10 and on sale at Ticketmaster, the Amway Arena Box Office and at the Citrus Bowl gates on game day. Gates open one hour prior to each game.
