Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic accident on Silver Star Road, where a 21-year-old young woman was fatally struck by an Isuzu truck while crossing the street.
The fatality, which occurred near Hiawassee Road, was reported just after 7:30 a.m. Monday, according to troopers.
The young woman had successfully crossed the eastbound lanes of Silver Star Road, but walked into the direct path of the Isuzu truck going westbound, which had a green light and the right of way.
The driver of the Isuzu truck, 25-year-old Pablo Alvarado Paloma struck the unnamed pedestrian, then ran over her.
The young woman was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Her name is being withheld pending family notification.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
