Florida is one of only three states that don’t require a booster seat for children over age four. A House bill (HB 151), which has more than 50-co-sponsors is yet to be heard in a committe. On the senate side, Senate bill (SB 196) has already passed two of its three committee stops.

AAA said they would also be pushing for a ban on texting while driving. SB 416 and HB 299, which prohibits drivers of all ages from texting while driving are the subject of two bills already filed.

The auto club said too, they will urge legislators not to raid the State Transportation Trust Fund and to use those dollars only for transportation. The Trust Fund has been raided in the past to help balance the budget.
