The Long Fight for Pets in Hospitals

A young woman from Orlando is currently petitioning for hospitals to allow patients to see their pets during their stays, citing that having pets around makes the healing process faster.

“My fur babies are my favorite medication,” said Katie Robinson, 24. And medication is something Robinson desperately needs. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was nine months old. Fox News 35 reports that Robinson, while in critical condition at the hospital, asked the nurses if she could see her dog.  After they allowed it, Robinson was able to go home after two days.
