An Orlando motorcyclist was killed on Monday night in Orange County, when a vehicle turned into his direct path, troopers said.

43-year-old Jose Cassar was traveling southbound on Apopka-Vineland Road, when Katelor Francignon, 17, driving a 2000 Nissan Xterra heading northbound, attempted to make a left turn on Silver Star Road.

Francignon made the turn in the direct path of  the 2000 Harley Davidson Cassar was riding, troopers also say.  The front of the Harley Davidson struck the right side of the Xterra. Both Cassar and Francignon had solid green lights at the intersection.

Cassar was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.  He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Francignon suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, Florida Highway Patrol said.
