Orlando is among the top twenty-five most dangerous cities in America, according to data compiled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The City Beautiful reported 1,073 violent crimes per 100,000 people, according to businessinsider.com. It also reported 49.4 forcible rapes per 100,000 people. The national average is 26.8 per 100,000 people.
Orlando joins other cities like Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Washington, D.C.; Newark, New Jersey; Miami, Florida; and Atlanta, Georgia, that are on the list.
The FBI defines violent crime as murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.
