“Give the Pelvis a Rest!”

Lord, knows that I am sick of women masquerading as whores! Lord, knows that I am sick of whores masquerading as women!

I long for the exemplary role model and dignified woman similarly to the Mona Lisa who Nat King Cole so melodiously described and endlessly searched to find.

I long for the revered Sunday school teachers and saintly pastors’ wives who elegantly grace the church classrooms and church pews.

I long for the community grandmothers who possessed the ever-so-subtle qualities and etiquette of modestly dressing and behaving.

I long for the classy women such as Nancy Wilson, Diahann Carroll, Denise Nicholas, Diana Ross, Oprah Winfrey, Dionne Warwick, and Shirley Chisholm who always demonstrated that their “best kept secret” should be shown only behind closed doors and reserved for a restricted audience.

I long for…

Instead, I constantly find:

Women who demean themselves by looking like strippers, prostitutes, or pole dancers.

Women who flaunt their sexuality by dressing provocatively irrespective of the venue.

Women who imitate the likes of Madonna, Rihanna, and Nikki Minaj by wearing see-through and exotic clothing.

Women whose behavior is best described as representing the animal kingdom—- sassy, saucy, rude, and profane.

Take a page from my playbook!

Yes, I realize that we live in a world that is sexually-saturated. Yes, I realize that we live in a world that is obsessed with sex. Yes, I realize that we live in a world that promotes that sex is the answer to just about everything. And, yes, I realize that Madison Avenue constantly reminds us that “sex sells.”

However, Father Time and Mother Nature have also taught me that the most attractive and long-lasting quality for a woman to emulate is dignity!

So, let’s:

Teach our young ladies that dignity will always persevere.

Reach our young ladies by showing them that their mind, body, and soul should be treated like a “savings” account—–adding to and not subtracting from!

Preach to our young ladies that sexual integrity means being self-assured. They should debunk “old wives tales” that they will be viewed as abnormal if they wait for the right person and wait for the right time.

Sexual exploitation begins with unbecoming behavior and unlady-like conduct which often leads to unwanted pregnancies and a host of nasty, deadly, and incurable diseases.

Sounds like the pelvis needs a rest!
