An out-of-state consulting firm, hired to register voters and already paid $1.3 million by the Republican Party of Florida, was fired earlier this week, after questionable voter applications were turned in to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections.
Nathan Sproul, the Republican operative who runs Strategic Allied Consulting, is not only tied to the Florida GOP, but also to the Mitt Romney Campaign which hired him as a political consultant, bradblog.com reports. Sproul’s company has been caught up in numerous fraud allegations against his organizations in multiple states, bradblog.com also reported.
According to palmbeachpost.com, Susan Bucher, Palm Beach Supervisor of Elections, flagged 106 suspicious voter registration applications submitted by Sproul’s firm, Strategic Allied Consulting.
“When we learned today about the instances of potential voter registration fraud that occurred in Palm Beach County, we immediately informed the Republican National Committee that we were terminating the contract with the voter registration vendor we hired at their request because there is no place for voter registration fraud in Florida,” said RPOF Executive Director Mike Grissom late Tuesday, palmbeachpost.com reported.
Bucher turned over copies of the applications to State Attorney Peter Antonacci and Chief Assistant State Attorney Paul Zacks, the paper also reported.
