Police: Man who Robs Bank Told Teller he would Kill Her

Jon Nelson – robbery suspect

Orlando police have apprehended a man who robbed a Bank of America branch on North Orange Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

47-year-old Jon Nelson walked into Bank of America at 390 North Orange Avenue just before 2:00 p.m., and demanded cash from a teller. Police say, Nelson implied that he had a weapon and told the teller if he did not get the money he would kill her.

Nelson exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, but was spotted later in the area of Westmoreland and Concord Avenue, police say.

Nelson who was positively identified, refused to talk with robbery detectives about the incident, but instead complained of medical issues. He was taken to a local area hospital for evaluation.

It is not clear if Nelson was found with a weapon when he was taken into custody.

Authorities say, no one was hurt during the bank robbery.
