Free Summer Program for Middle, High School Students Announced

2012 SUMMER SIZZLA!!! Sponsored by the Technology Center for Teens at the South Orlando YMCA.

Activities for middle and high school students to include technology, indoor/outdoor science experiments, organized games and activities (Light snacks are provided).

Tech Center Summer Hours:
Monday – Friday 1:00pm-6:00pm

Dates
Monday June 11 through Friday July 27, 2012

The Lockheed Martin Technology Center (LMTC) is a facility designed to enrich knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to students in the Central Florida Community. Students participate in inventive sessions utilizing creative technologies through computers, gaming equipment, and other technology tools. The LMTC provides an innovative environment enabling students to peek their interests in the fields of science, math or technology.

Daily Schedule (subject to change)

1:00 pm – 1:45 pm YMCA Core Values (Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility & Faith) 1:45 pm – 3:00 pm STEM Challenges / Snacks and Group Games 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm From A to Z Reading Rockets (Reading and Spelling Games) 3:45 pm – 5:00 pm Outdoor STEM Challenges with Poolside Fun Activities OR Sports & Gym Activities 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm Cool Math Computer Games / Gaming Time Mondays: Activities with UCF School of Nursing // Wednesdays: Harbor House Activities // Fridays: Science Lab with Mr. Z.
