The St. Petersburg man who killed an Orlando father and his three sons nearly two years ago, pleaded guilty Tuesday to four counts of DUI manslaughter and one count of DUI with seriously bodily injury.
22-year-old Demetrius Jordan’s trial was set to begin today, but his attorney made the plea announcement, tampabay.com reported.
Jordan was driving drunk in August 2010 and ran a red light at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Street and 22nd Avenue N in St. Petersburg, police said.
Jordan’s Chevrolet Impala struck a Ford Fusion, killing 51-year-old Elroy McConnell, of Orlando and his three sons: 28-year-old Elroy McConnell III, of Pineville, La., and 24-year-old Nathan McConnell and Kelly McConnell, 19, also of Orlando.
Jordan faces a minimum of 44 years and a maximum of life in prison, under sentencing guidelines, the paper reported.
