Deputies Arrest East Side Serial Robber

A man responsible for a string of armed robberies was arrested on Thursday after deputies observed him commit an in-progress robbery at an ATM on South Goldenrod Road.

Orange County deputies said, 39-year-old Felix Javier Munoz was observed attempting to rob someone at the Chase Bank ATM on South Goldenrod Road near Curry Ford Road. Deputies closed in and took Munoz into custody without incident.

The victim was unhurt, deputies said.

Investigators also said Munoz is linked to several robberies, including two on April 10, one at a Walmart Neighborhood Market on South Chickasaw Trail and the other at a Racetrac Gas Station on South Goldenrod Road. Detectives also believe Munoz is connected to a March 25 robbery at a Seven Eleven Store on South Bumby Avenue.

The victims in all cases advised that Munoz threatened them with what appeared to be a black semi-automatic firearm.

No one was injured during the course of these robberies, deputies said.

Munoz was booked into the Orange County Jail yesterday, April 12, 2012. He has been charged with robbery with a firearm.
