Obama Talks Up Economy at FAU

President Barack Obama will deliver a nationally televised address on the economy and tax policy at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton today.

During his address, Mr. Obama is expected to make the case once more for the Buffett Rule, where no household making more than $1 million each year pays a smaller share of their income in taxes than a middle class family pays.

In 2009, close to 1,500 millionaires paid $0 in federal income tax, while millions of middle class families paid their fair share in taxes- funding areas such as education, the military and health care for seniors.

Mr. Obama’s visit to Florida Atlantic University marks the first time a president has spoken there since Lyndon Johnson gave the opening address at the new school in 1963.
