Three finalists have been named for Seminole County Public Schools 2013 Teacher of the Year. They are:
- Altamonte Elementary – Casey Foote (3rd Grade)
- Hagerty High – Helen Reed (English)
- Jackson Heights Middle – Valeria Brown (Language Arts)
The selection process began with the sixty-three Seminole County teachers selected by their peers at their respective schools. The list was then narrowed to 12 semifinalists and ultimately to three finalists for the 2013 Teacher of the Year Program. Consideration of each teacher’s information and recommendation packet, as well as visits to the seminfinalists’ classrooms, completed the process before the finalists were named.
The winner will be submitted for consideration in The Florida Department of Education-Macy’s Teacher of the Year Program.
