Troopers are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident.
The crash happened on Kirkman Road near Old Winter Garden Road just before 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
Florida Highway Patrol says, 18-year-old Christian Anthony, of Orlando, who was standing in the center grass median, attempted to cross Kirkman Road, when for an unknown reason he fell face first into the center lane of northbound, Kirkman Road. The teen was standing in the center median with two other pedestrians, before attempting to cross the roadway, trooper said.
A 2003 Ford Taurus, driven by Darrell Boykin, 38, of Orlando, heading northbound on Kirkman Road in the Center lane, was unable to avoid Anthony, and the front of the vehicle struck him. Troopers said, it is unknown at this time whether Boykin ran over the teen.
Anthony was transported to the Health Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation and no charges are pending.
