Dwight Howard’s 28 points and 20 rebounds led the Orlando Magic to a convincing 103-85 win over the visiting Washington Wizards Wednesday night.
Howard collected his 3rd 20 rebound game of the season, also scoring 17 points in the first half.
Orlando looked fresh after having Tuesday off. The Magic came out firing, leading the Wizards 31-14 after the first quarter and would never look back.
“We came out and played better than we had against Detroit,” Howard said. “It was good to see us bounce back.”
Ryan Anderson scored 23 points but more importantly grabbed 15 rebounds. Anderson has played extremely well this season and is a great compliment to Howard.
Hedu Turkoglu and JJ Redick chipped in 14 points for the Magic.
Nick Young led The Washington Wizards who fell to 0-6 for the first time in franchise history with 17 points. The Wizards are the only team in the NBA without a win.
“We’re gonna have to do something with our start,” Saunders said. “Whether its personnel wise or whatever. But somehow we’ve got to have some juice to start games.”
Wizards second year star John Wall wasn’t happy with his teammates offensive selfishness and trust for one another on the defensive end.
“It’s everything,” he said. “We go over everything on defense in the shootaround, but we didn’t do it out there. You see what happened to us. Once everybody started being selfish on offense, (and) then on the defensive end we’re not trusting each other.”
Orlando has won 5 of it’s last 6 games and will host the 6-1 Chicago Bulls Friday night at 8pm.
