Killings Continue in Sanford, 25-Year-Old Shot Dead

A man was shot and killed at an intersection in Sanford, just before 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, police said.

Sanford police arrived at the intersection of Celery Avenue and Summerlin Avenue to investigate a traffic crash with shots fired.    That’s when they found a man shot and lying on the ground about 50 feet from vehicles. The man was later identified as 25-year-old Freddie Barriner, of Sanford.

Barriner was taken to the Central Florida Regional Hospital in critical condition and later died.

The investigation is ongoing.

This is a developing story.
