Jogger Struck, Killed by Car on US 441

An unidentified jogger was struck and killed by a car on Sunday night on U.S. Highway 441 near Mary Louis Lane in Osceola County, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The jogger, an unknown Hispanic male who carried noidentification with him, was pronounced dead at the scene following the accident just around 8:45 p.m., troopers said.

A 2006 Lexus driven by Anand Singh Hehra, 29, of Orlando was on the inside lane on US Highway 441 approaching Mary Louis Lane, troopers said.

The jogger was running westbound, crossing the northbound lanes of U.S. HWY 441 at the intersection of Mary Louis Lane, when he crossed into the direct path of the Lexus. The front of the car struck the jogger.

The medical examiner pronounced the unknown jogger dead at the scene.

Hehra suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and was taken to the Osceola Regional Hospital.

Two passengers traveling with Hehra, 39-year-old Rakesh Rathee, of Orlando, and Santhana RAman, 48, of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, were unhurt.
