Pastor Zachery Tims, founder of the New Destiny Christian Center mega-church in Apopka, Central Florida may have died of a drug overdose, the New York Daily News reports.
A small glassine envelope of white powder was found in Tims’ right pants pocket when he was found in a hotel room in New York City Times Square.
Tims was found dead around 6:00 p.m. last Friday in the W Hotel on Broadway.
According to the New York Daily News, Tims’ autopsy was inconclusive and further tests are being done to determine the cause of death.
It is believed that Tims was alone when he died as hotel staff had to break through the room’s security bar to gain entry into the room.
