Cyclist Dies From Injuries in Orange Ave Crash

A 45-year-old woman on a bike died on Wednesday from injuries sustained in a vehicle crash yesterday in Orlando.

The fatal crash happened in the 2100 block of South Orange Avenue just before 1:00 p.m.

Police said, 52-year-old Stuart J. Peisner of Longwood was driving south on South Orange Avenue in a Ford Taurus when the bicyclist, Deborah A. Jones of Orlando, who was also heading south on the sidewalk of South Orange Avenue crossed the road, entering the path of the vehicle.

Peisner attempted to stop, but stuck the left rear of the Jones’ bicycle.  Jones was ejected from the bike and unto the hood of the Taurus, striking the windshield.  She was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries to her head.   Jones died earlier today.

Peisner was not injured as a result of the crash and police said, no charges are pending.
