A man working at Walt Disney has been arrested and charged with raping a woman whom he helped with a reservation, after she contacted the resort several weeks ago.
31-year-old Wilbert Brookins, who worked at Disney Central Reservations, was arrested after the woman claimed she was raped by Brookins, upon checking into the Beach Club Resort earlier on February 22.
The victim told deputies she had indicated to the man at reservations, who described himself as BJ, she was looking for the cheapest deals, as she was unemployed and a single mom. The victim said, BJ then texted her telling her not to make reservations and he would do so under a “Friends and Family” discount. He also told her he knew what it was like to be raised by a single mom, as he had had that experience. The woman said, she and BJ spoke several times more prior to her trip and she felt comfortable accepting the discount offer, as BJ told her if anything went wrong she could file a complaint and get him fired. The woman claimed she told BJ she was not willing to trade sexual favors for the discounted reservation.
Deputies learned, when the woman arrived at Disney, BJ helped with getting her bags to the room and subsequently, along with her kids, went to Magic Kingdom and Space Mountain, where BJ signed them in using his employee card. BJ stayed with them, the woman said, claiming that since it was her birthday, he would show her around the park. The woman said, later in the evening she began to feel tired, having driven one and a half days to get to Disney. She told BJ, she wanted to return to the hotel and to rest. BJ offered to drive her car back to the hotel.
The woman told deputies back in the room, BJ picked up the remote and began to flip through channels on the tv, as she hinted to him that she was tired and needed to sleep. The woman told deputies BJ did not budge and that she must have fallen asleep, onlyto be awakened by him tugging at her pants. The woman said she awoke disoriented and tired, but told BJ to leave. She fell asleep again, the woman said, only to be sexually battered by BJ. The victim said, after BJ left her Visa Debit Card was missing, along with $40.00 in cash and her room key.
The victim told deputies she did not give anyone permission to touch her and is willing to prosecute.
Deputies identified BJ as Wilbert Brookins who works at the Disney Central Reservations. He was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Orange County Jail.
