District 19 Senate candidate has many ties to the West Orlando community. Considered a strong alternative to incumbent Gary Siplin, Ortiz has paid her dues and received endorsements from some of the most influential leaders and organizations in the state.
“A growing economy that brings in higher paying jobs, that’s my top goal as your next State Senator”, says Ortiz. Well aware that the Central Florida econonmy is fragile and subject to the whims of tourists, Ms. Ortiz has vowed to make better jobs a priority and remove West Orlando and others in the district from the grips of low paying jobs.
Although many take for granted that Gary Siplin will receive the African American vote, Ortiz has a long history of working with minorities, both black and Hispanic. After 4 years in the Senate, many find Siplin eccentric, out of touch and too focused on issues that are irrelevant to the West Orlando community.
Ortiz is particularly concerned that the Orlando Community Venues project, and its blueprint for chanf and fairness be actually implemented. To learn more about Ortiz, her background and candidacy, please visit her website: Belinda Ortiz for State Senate
